We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our client's dynamic team. In this key role, you will lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, while providing high-quality tax services to a diverse client base. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the company's growth and development while expanding your professional expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of tax professionals, including delegating work, reviewing work for accuracy and compliance, providing training and mentorship, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Oversee all aspects of the tax compliance process, including the preparation and review of personal, corporate, and trust tax returns, identifying tax savings opportunities, and minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, including assisting with tax planning and reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and international tax matters.
  • Research and analyze complex tax issues, including staying abreast of legislative and regulatory changes and applying knowledge to client situations.
  • Manage client relationships, including responding to client inquiries, providing proactive tax advice, and building strong working relationships.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, including coordinating tax-related requests and resolving any outstanding issues.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to improve client service and enhance firm profitability.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Actively participate in business development activities, including client presentations and networking events.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA designation (required).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of practical experience with a strong focus on Canadian income tax.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, including managing a team of tax professionals.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to solve complex tax problems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with Caseware and TaxPrep is a strong asset.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach with a strong work ethic.
