We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Director to join our client's growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned tax professional with a passion for high-net-worth individuals and families to contribute significantly to the firm's success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive tax planning and compliance services for high-net-worth individuals, families, and their related entities, including domestic and international tax matters.
- Advise clients on complex tax issues, including cross-border tax planning, estate and gift tax, and international tax structuring.
- Prepare and review tax returns (including individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate returns).
- Manage tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities.
- Advise families on various family office matters, including wealth preservation and succession planning, philanthropy, and investment structuring.
- Coordinate with external advisors, such as investment managers, attorneys, and trust officers, to ensure seamless client service.
- Directly manage a team of 2 junior tax professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tax department, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of client services.
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying and cultivating new client relationships.
- Represent the firm at industry events and conferences.
- Participate in special projects, such as research and development initiatives, and contribute to the firm's overall strategic growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master of Science in Taxation (MST) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or private wealth management.
- In-depth knowledge of US and international tax laws, including estate and gift tax, income tax, and cross-border tax planning. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Proficiency in tax research databases and software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills. Strong leadership and mentorship abilities. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Prior experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families is highly preferred.
- Experience managing foreign affiliates and coordinating with international service providers is a plus.
- Familiarity with family office concepts and operations is beneficial.
