We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Director to join our client's growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned tax professional with a passion for high-net-worth individuals and families to contribute significantly to the firm's success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive tax planning and compliance services for high-net-worth individuals, families, and their related entities, including domestic and international tax matters.
  • Advise clients on complex tax issues, including cross-border tax planning, estate and gift tax, and international tax structuring.
  • Prepare and review tax returns (including individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate returns).
  • Manage tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities.
  • Advise families on various family office matters, including wealth preservation and succession planning, philanthropy, and investment structuring.
  • Coordinate with external advisors, such as investment managers, attorneys, and trust officers, to ensure seamless client service.
  • Directly manage a team of 2 junior tax professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tax department, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of client services.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying and cultivating new client relationships.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and conferences.
  • Participate in special projects, such as research and development initiatives, and contribute to the firm's overall strategic growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master of Science in Taxation (MST) or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or private wealth management.
  • In-depth knowledge of US and international tax laws, including estate and gift tax, income tax, and cross-border tax planning. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Proficiency in tax research databases and software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills. Strong leadership and mentorship abilities. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Prior experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing foreign affiliates and coordinating with international service providers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with family office concepts and operations is beneficial.
